NHL to close all of its hotwire communications, save a few for the postseason
NHL.com has learned the League will close all hotwire facilities by the end of the year and save a handful for the playoffs.
Sources tell NHL.org that the NHL is expected to close up to 15 of its 10 facilities by 2019 and to save the remaining facilities by 2025.
The organization will have to save space and time in some cases to maintain the current technology and equipment.
One source told NHL.co.uk that the league will need to make significant investments in technology to keep up with the demands of the modern game and make the games more fun.
Other sources told NHL News the league may look to move away from the current “one-stop shopping” approach to bring fans closer to the game and more closely interact with their team.
